DawnShft guide
Connect your MT5 account
Last updated September 30, 2026
Yearly Pro can connect a compatible MT5 trading account to DawnShft for automatic, read-only account updates and broker-aligned Desk pricing. DawnShft never receives or stores your broker password.
Before you begin
- Have an active MT5 trading account and its correct broker server.
- Make sure MT5 is connected and already shows your real balance and equity.
- Keep the terminal running whenever you want automatic account updates and broker-aligned pricing. A Windows VPS is optional for continuous updates without leaving your own computer on.
1. Create the DawnShft connection
- Open Account in DawnShft and select the trading account you want to connect.
- Select Connect MT5.
- Copy the connection token when it is shown. It is private and displayed only once; treat it like a password.
2. Install the bridge
- In MT5, open File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Experts.
- Download DawnShft MT5 Account Bridge v1.13 Adaptive from the DawnShft MT5 bridge page, then open the downloaded file.
- MetaEditor places it in the Experts folder. If prompted to replace an older bridge, choose the newer version.
- Click Compile. Continue only when the result shows 0 errors.
3. Allow the secure connection
In MT5, open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors. Turn on Allow algorithmic trading and Allow WebRequest for listed URL, then add:
https://dawnshft.com
4. Attach and configure the bridge
- Open any chart and find DawnShft_MT5_Account_Bridge_v1_13_Adaptive under Navigator → Expert Advisors.
- Attach it to the chart, enable Allow Algo Trading, and open the Inputs tab.
- Paste the DawnShft token into ConnectionToken. Leave the sync URL unchanged.
- Click OK.
5. Confirm it worked
Open the MT5 Toolbox → Experts tab. The bridge first reports DawnShft: MT5 Desk bridge v1.13 adaptive … loaded. A successful connection then reads DawnShft: adaptive snapshot synced (startup). HTTP=200. Your account balance, equity, margin, positions, pending orders, and available broker-aligned Market Pulse prices then update in DawnShft automatically.
Keep the connection online (optional)
If you want the connection to remain active when your computer is off, run MT5 on a suitable Windows VPS. Any reliable VPS that can keep your MT5 terminal logged in can work. The founder uses FXSVPS as a setup reference; this is optional, and DawnShft does not require or endorse a specific VPS provider.
Troubleshooting
- HTTP 401: confirm the current token is in the bridge input. If needed, rotate the token in DawnShft and replace it in MT5.
- HTTP 422 or zero values: wait until MT5 visibly shows the live account, then reattach the bridge.
- No updates: confirm MT5 is still open, logged in, and connected to the correct broker server.
Read-only by design: the bridge only sends account snapshots and current broker reference prices to DawnShft. It cannot place, modify, or close trades. Broker-aligned prices refresh about every 15 seconds while you have open positions or pending orders. While you are flat, the bridge sends a heartbeat every 15 minutes and Market Pulse uses DawnShft reference prices between broker updates. Always confirm your executable bid/ask in MT5 before placing an order.
